Below is just some of the feedback we have received as the JogWantage course has progressed.

“Really enjoy my jogging now very much appreciate the training you all gave me. Find it such a stress buster and a couple of years ago would never of thought I would feel that way.”

Our 2009 beginners showing steady progress.

“I ... have wanted to write to your group many times to thank you for the wonderful training over the summer. We moved from Wantage around October and ... so did not get a chance to say thank you. To keep my jogging up I have now joined a gym but hope to get out and about when the weather improves. I really love jogging now and have your group to thank for it.”

“I wanted to say ‘Thank you’ for encouraging me to get out & run through your Jog Wantage initiative this summer. Yesterday I completed the Hanney 5 run, which I know I couldn't have done if I'd not started on your course! ...
with best wishes & thanks again”

“Week 13 – Pulled out all the stops this week. It was hard to Letcombe up Windmill Hill and around the outskirts of Challow back to the field. It was very hard jogging up the hill but could not believe it when at the top. Dene was brilliant keeping us going with encouragement. It was our longest run and you can see just how far we have all improved over the weeks. Sorry, not there next week!! Make it hard. Ha Ha!”

“Week 12 – Well, thought we were going to do the same as last week to the park up the hill and back, but you added a trip to the scout hut up Springfield Road, a bit of a shock but we all managed the extra distance. It is amazing when you get home and consider what you have managed to do.”

“Week 11 – What a damp day!! We jogged to Letcombe today. I didn’t quite get into a comfortable zone jogging this time. Sometimes you can jog and it can just be secondary to the chatting, but today it was harder. I guess some days are just like that? But it always feels great when you have finished!”

“Week 10 – Hi, Jog Leaders
Well, you changed it again this week – to go to the Park and once around, up that hill. It looked very daunting. When Dene said once around the field when we got back I thought he was joking – haha but somehow we all managed it. Each week I can feel an improvement in jogging and recovery after a run.
Thanks”

“Week 9 – The warm up seemed hard this week. I was perhaps just not feeling right. It was not any harder than we have done before.
We also jogged to Letcombe pacing myself a little better today but I must say I am still panting by the end of the path. On the way back along the path it is a little better but adding the field to the distance was just enough. I don’t think I could have coped with any further. The leaders know just how to stretch you that little bit more. It was very good and I enjoyed the warm down.
Looking forward to next week.”

“Week 8 – Back to Letcombe again this week. I thought that I would pace a little faster and have more recovery time at Letcombe, but shock and horror, we did not stop and just kept on running. I was exhausted by the end and thought I may stop on the way back, but did manage the whole way, these leaders never let you rest on your laurels, ha ha. Thanks, I think.”
~ Paula Broad

“Week 7 – The warm up was great, then we were asked about jogging to Letcombe, oh my!! Never thought I would make it, glad we had time to recover before returning along the footpath with a little dog at our heels, but what a sense of achievement with the warm down as well. I really enjoyed this week after we had done the jog.”

“... I have really REALLY enjoyed the course ...”
~ Sarah Clark

“... you will be pleased to know that our objective was achieved because we have increased our level of fitness and have every intention of continuing to take some form of exercise. Thanks for all your help and support.”
~ Clara Long

“I would like to apologise for not attending the last few weeks of the running course. I really enjoyed the ones I did, ... Once again thank you for a fun, interesting course ... If there is a possibility of you doing another one in the future I would love the opportunity to complete it.”
~ Sandy Bumpass

“Week 5 – Week 5 was fun you can now feel a bit more comfortable when running, it is hard at the begining of the class and end but now in the middle you can feel your body getting use to the jogging. And the different way you are doing each class stops us getting bored it was very good.”
~ Paula Broad

“... I have really REALLY enjoyed the course ...”
~ Sarah Clark

“Week 4 – A good week did not feel up to jogging this week, but so glad I came yesterday, it was good giving each person the option to do more jogging or walking, it is always a surprise what you are actually capable off (you just need the motivation), mind you I think the stop watch stopped on the 5 minute jog it seemed a lot longer!!!”
~ Paula Broad

“Week 3 – Quite a step up from Week 2, I enjoyed the session, never thought I would run around the field but made it this week, however I think being a number 1 this week was not a wise move!! Ha ha, and am actually thinking I may just be able to jog!! It’s great that the warm up and down is taken by different people you can then find the exercise which suits you. Thank you.”
~ Paula Broad

“Week 2 – Quite like Week 1 but great the exercises change, I did not get bored and realy enjoyed the session, and nearly ran round the field, being with different leaders each week is good you get a different pace from each, and am very pleased I signed up to the course.”
~ Paula Broad

“I just wanted to say how much Im enjoying the JogWantage course. The balance of hard work and fun is just right and I feel that I am starting to feel an improvement in my own fitness and best of all my self–confidence has gone through the roof.
The jog leaders have the right balance of drive and fun which is very infectious and it has made me want to work harder. Their advice has been invaluable and hopefully I will achieve my goal of completing my half marathon in September!!!
Thank you for giving your time and providing a great course.”
~ Sarah Kerr

“Week 1 – Just to let you know, having completed the first lesson of the jogging course I enjoyed the session it was good to do the activites, I thought it may be here is the field and go around it as fast/slow as you can. So the walk/jog start was great it gave you time to recover on the walk part to do the next jog. Thanks.”
